What is Latin American Studies?

Latin American studies examines the history, politics, art, geography, gender studies, and sociology of Latin America and uses that lens to critically examine and analyze the experiences of Latin Americans in Latin America and around the world.

Why should I major in Latin American Studies?

Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary major that leads students towards multiple paths, including anthropology, art, and the languages of Latin America. Students gain an understanding of the many rich histories and cultures that encompass Latin America and are encouraged to take part in exciting study abroad opportunities in places such as Santiago, Dominican Republic and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

What are my career options with Latin American Studies?
